While still in school, I was able to take out a loan and get myself a MacPlus. I began playing with MacDraft and produced a drawings for a few of my school projects. My drawings looked really bad. After finishing school, I continued to use MacDraft while also giving MiniCAD a try. I purchased a CalComp pen plotter and MacPlot to output my drawings. At the time, I was frustrated with MiniCAD and friend of mine mentioned that the MacPlot developers were releasing a new CAD program. Being a MacPlot owner entitled me to a discount on PowerDraw, and trusting my friend's advice, I gave it a try. I was hooked, and I was able to attain a level of drafting consistently faster than hand drafting.
The quantum leap in drafting speed, however, didn't happen until WildTools. WildTools helps me produce more work in less time and as a consequence, I am able to concentrate on the quality of the drawings. It's always fun to show an AutoCAD or MicroStation user WildTools and hear them constantly utter, "no, I can't do that".
