Jacques Pochoy
Architect D.P.L.G - Urban Planner

City of St. Pierre (St. Pierre & Miquelon). Different layers
are used to explain the re-use of the old landing strip.

There are very few "real" tools that can let you work in urban planning (as in landscaping). The trouble with this art is that the city is already there (usually!) and that the plans were made in the 19th century. And none of us has the desire of drawing it all over again, just because we work on a peculiar district.

The capability in PowerCADD of placing aerial photographs at a 'working' scale and drawing over it, lets you design with accuracy and freedom!

Another important feature is the layer sheets that can be most useful in collective work, as you are able to demonstrate quickly different states of the 'would-be' planning (one of my dreams is be to be able to save these in a QuickTime format without getting out of PowerCADD).
